The
Holistic Life Foundation, Inc. is a
registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization
in Baltimore, Maryland that performs human and
environmental health programs to demonstrate
the interconnectedness people have with the
environment in which they live.

The
Holistic Life Foundation, Inc. was incorporated
on December 19, 2001. Holistic Life was founded
by three friends who graduated from the University
of Maryland College Park together: Atman Smith,
Andres Gonzalez, and Ali Smith. After being offered
the opportunity to coach an after school sports
program at Windsor Hills Elementary School, we
pitched the idea of running an after school program
to the school’s principal. On March 5th,
2002 Holistic Life launched the After School Asanas,
after school program with fifteen, fifth grade
male students, the first program ever.
Holistic
Life Foundation moved to the Druid Hill
YMCA in 2003 we continue to host the after school
and mentoring programs. Expanding the population
served, we have taught yoga and holistic health,
and facilitated environmental advocacy work at
dozens of after school programs, camps, and recreation
centers, ultimately reaching over one thousand
students.
Holistic
Life Foundation has written and piloted
a yoga physical education curriculum, facilitated
workshops for numerous colleges and organizations
around the region, launched our annual
“It’s All Good
in the Hood: Basketball Tournament”
and our annual “It’s
All Good in the Hood: Family FunkFest”.
Holistic Life has also made appearances on The
Larry Young Show on WOLB and Café Baltimore,
and was interviewed by B Magazine.
