Environmental advocacy work provides students
with opportunities to increase their knowledge
and awareness of the Chesapeake Bay watershed
as well as the larger world environment. Then,
that knowledge will be used to show the interrelatedness
of the entire global environment, to expand students’
outlook from the neighborhood level to the biosphere
level.
We
have facilitated community clean-ups, constructed
an award winning park with the Robert W. Coleman
Community Organization, facilitated Earth Day
activities and tree plantings, constructed worm
composting bins, organized recycling programs,
and facilitated environmental education programs.
We
have done environmental advocacy work with Woodberry
Crossing, Robert W. Coleman Community Organization,
The School for Original Thought, Red Bud Farm,
and others.
