Mindfulness Residency Program

The Mindfulness Residency Program is a highly intensive five-day program where students and staff immerse themselves in rigorous mindfulness techniques designed to enhance their classroom and school environments. To ensure that the program is fully integrated, HLF provides ongoing follow-up care throughout the year, assessing for strengths and weaknesses and building on the foundational practices learned during the initial holistic training.

Yoga & Mindfulness Classes

HLF offers yoga and mindfulness classes to students, teachers, and staff members, teaching both chair and mat-based practices to reduce stress, hypervigilance, and aggression, while promoting focus, positive peer interaction, and self-esteem. These classes provide practical applications of these techniques for use both inside and outside of the school environment. HLF provides one-hour sessions for students of all ages from Pre-K through 12th grade, and schools have the option to request multiple sessions throughout the school day. These yoga and mindfulness classes are available throughout the entire school year.

The Holistic Life Foundation offers a variety of programs listed below. Contact us to find out how you can participate.

Environmental Programs

The Holistic Life Foundation offers a range of environmental programs that focus on both education and advocacy. These programs provide students with invaluable opportunities to increase their knowledge and awareness of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, as well as the larger global environment. The goal is to demonstrate how these ecosystems are interconnected and how small actions can have a big impact on the world around us.

Students who participate in HLF's environmental programs have the chance to engage in various activities, including community clean-ups, building raised bed community vegetable gardens, constructing a park on a vacant lot, building worm-composting bins, coordinating recycling programs, and testifying in front of the Baltimore City Council in support of the Baltimore City Sustainability Plan. They have also received Presidential Environmental Youth Awards for outstanding youth environmental stewardship from President Obama, participated in Earth Day tree plantings, and gone on environmentally themed field trips, hikes, and camping trips. These programs give students a chance to develop a strong sense of environmental responsibility and stewardship that they can carry with them throughout their lives.
